Immersion & Teacher Training

The True Nature: Living Yoga Immersion & 200hr Yoga Teacher Training, is the latest development from Deva & Eaden Shantay. With five, 200hr Integrative Yoga Therapy Teacher Trainings under their belt and with the development of the new Kiva space, they wanted to create a new training that fully embodied the values of True Nature Healing Arts and the present needs of the larger community. This led to the birth of the Living Yoga Immersion & Yoga Teacher Training concept.

Over years of leading trainings, participants shared that they wanted to discover yoga on a deeper level but didn’t necessarily want to teach. The question arose, “What if we designed a training that would honor those that don’t want to teach and those that do?”

This is where the Immersion concept comes in. Phase 1 of the training has a three module Living Yoga Immersion to teach everyone the background/history of yoga, tools of yoga (asana, meditation, Vedanta, etc) and how to apply them to live a more sattvic (balanced), connected and aligned life.

The Living Yoga Immersion, allows everyone to participate regardless of background or experience level. Students who decide they want become teachers, can then take Phase 2, which includes three Yoga Teacher Training Modules. The YTT Modules do not need to be completed at the same time as the Immersion, and could be completed later, if desired.

Students desiring to complete both the Immersion and the Teacher Training Modules in the same year, can take advantage of the back-to-back scheduling, which provides 2 weeks of deepening, 3 times a year.

The Living Yoga Immersion is open to all and students are asked to participate with an open- mind and a willingness to explore parts of themselves they may not be aware of. This will be a transformative journey, exploring all aspects of self; body, heart, mind and spirit.

The Yoga Teacher Training modules deal specifically with how to teach yoga. Students will be exposed to a broad spectrum of skill-sets including: postures and styles of yoga, anatomy & physiology, and teaching technologies. Ample time will be placed on practice teaching and assisting, with feedback from students and teachers. Students will graduate feeling confident in their teaching abilities and can take part in the True Nature Yoga Mentor Program for graduates of the YTT, where new teachers can deepen in a supportive learning environment.

Deva and Eaden excel at creating an intimate, authentic and powerful learning environment, often sharing examples of their personal experiences with the yogic principles being taught. They are excited to share in the Living Yoga Immersion, combined with a dedicated and focused Yoga Teacher Training to provide a powerful learning environment and a strong foundation from which to share the knowledge of yoga.

“If you truly want to be an effective yoga teacher, you have to embody a yogic lifestyle.” – Deva Shantay

“To be completely honest, this training is not for those who want a quick certificate but rather for yogis who desire true change in their lives. This change requires the application of yoga practices to our lives and immersion over time, which leads to the assimilation of knowledge.” – Eaden Shantay
