What Matters Most

What Matters Most
a note from Co-Founder Eaden Shantay

As we make our way into 2024, what matters most to you? What is the currency of your life? What do you value above all else? How do you spend TIME and WHY?

Many a wise person has shared that time is the most valuable commodity in a human life. How we spend our time and why is a very important and necessary inquiry if we wish to walk a spiritual path and live a conscious life.

For many, simply surviving is of the greatest importance. This might mean being able to purchase clothing, put food on the table or a roof over our heads. For others, when our day-to-day survival needs are met, we seek pleasure and entertainment. Then there are those wishing to know more about themselves, the world and Spirit and possibly stepping into service to other. It’s not about judging yourself or others for where we or they are but inquiring into the why. Why do we do what we do and what are the underlying motivations for our actions?

Self-Inquiry Practice: Take an inventory of how you spend time and your underlying motivation. Meditate, journal, contemplate.

Explore the lower three chakras: 1st: Survival, 2nd: Sexuality & Creativity, and 3rd: The will center and our connection to others and the world.

As we bring balance and healing to the lower three chakras, we build a foundation upon which to enter the heart. The 4th chakra, feeling gratitude for what we have and sharing with others from a place of abundance. In the 5th chakra we have the opportunity to explore integrity in thought, word and deed. The 6th is the energy center of self-awareness and presence and the 7th, the seat of “I Am” consciousness—our very existence.

Where do you dwell? Is this where you desire to be? Every moment we have a choice. What do you want?

As we step into this new year, we have an incredible opportunity. Of course we can commit to a new goal or practice, these are very helpful if they support a healthy body and clear mind but to maximize the time given to us by Spirit, consider inquiring into what matters most and why. Deva and I are so grateful you are part of this community and we wish you a very happy and healthy new year.
